The glory days of the NBA

you know what i miss? the good ol' days of the NBA. early 80's to mid 90's basketball. lakers vs. celtics, pistons vs lakers..those days were the best. why? because it was a man's game back then. the nba is so pussified now. case in point, fouls. look at this clip of trevor ariza's alleged "flagrant 2" foul on rudy fernandez.

hard foul right? yeah. after the foul, fernandez is laying on the floor like he's paralyzed or some shit, with doctors hovered over him. and ariza is facing a possible suspension for a so called "flagrant foul". now...look at this clip from the 1984 Lakers vs. Celtics Finals game game.

DAMN!! now that's a foul! Kevin McHale straight WWF clothes lined Kurt Rambis. what's so cool is that KURT JUMPS RIGHT UP AND ATTACKS MCHALE!!! he was on the ground a good 2 seconds at the most. these players nowadays would be out for the season after a foul like that. and guess what, McHale was charged with a regular ol' personal foul. Kurt got two free throws for that. what sucks is that Boston went on to win the game AND series after that. that foul changed the whole course of the playoffs.
don't get me wrong, i love the game...but i would love for the passion and toughness from the days of old to return to the game. GO LAKERS!!!
